The Matador church of Christ was excited to host a retirement celebration in honor of Mike Crowley. Mike is celebrating his 50th year as a Gospel preacher and his retirement after 30 years as the pulpit minister of the church that meets at Matador.

A large crowd gathered on Sunday, December 1, for worship and fellowship to celebrate his life of ministry. Friends and family that could make the trip enjoyed time together and a meal while many others that could not come, sent letters, videos and messages of support and love. Mike’s family presented a video montage featuring family history and photos of the various places that Mike and Judy had lived and worked as well as anecdotes and memories from over the years. Following the presentation, a special cake was served and a time of visiting took place.

Final Night of Gospel Meeting Stresses Discipleship, Evangelism

Fred reminds us that discipleship is the key to transforming our world, our society, our communities and our local church. Evangelism begins with the knowledge that “Christ died for me”. From there, one can prioritize their life in such a way that God can use them to see the people he puts in their life as potential children of God.
